A private journal for military families

Service changes a whole family: the one who serves, and everyone at home. PJ is a private place to put it down. Just talk, and PJ writes it for you.

PJ was built by Jack McVickar, who comes from a long line of military family and served himself. That's why the first new looks for PJ came in service colors.

For whoever's carrying it

Different people in a military family need different things from a journal.

Veterans

No typing, no blank page. Talk it out on your phone or from your Apple Watch, and PJ writes it down. Your recording stays with the entry, so your voice is there too.

Spouses and partners

Keep a record of what happened while they were gone: the first steps, the broken water heater, the hard nights. Share it when they're home, or keep it for yourself.

Parents and kids

Hand Grandpa the phone and let him talk. His stories stay in his own voice, with the words written out beside them.

Every move

Your journal lives in your own iCloud, not on a base or a server. New phone, new duty station, same journal. Your recovery key brings it back.

Private means private

Your words, labels, recordings and photos are end-to-end encrypted, with a key only your devices hold. No account, no ads, nothing collected. Nobody else can read it, including us.

Keep OPSEC in mind: leave locations, dates and unit details out of anything you share from your journal.

Your journal, in your colors

Seven service-color icons: Olive Drab, Dress Blue, Aviator Blue, Scarlet & Gold, Rescue Orange, Orbit Black and Navy & Gold. See them all.
